Essence Sanders
Essence Sanders is NCRC’s Restorative Practices Specialist. She provides halftime coordination and support to the Restorative Practices School Team, and halftime support to the Stop the Hate Grant initiative. Essence meets with school leadership to assess the needs conducive to capacity building of restorative practices. She assists school sites with effectively implementing site-specific restorative practices while supporting the facilitation of circles and conferences with teachers, administration, and community organizations.
As a San Diego native, Essence is passionate about supporting her local community and schools to create safe and inclusive learning environments for all students, teachers, and community members. She strives to help her community recognize the power of healthy relationships and communication. As a former classroom teacher, Essence is committed to supporting educational institutions and their students, staff, and administrators.
