Eric has a wide variety of experience in alternative dispute resolution. He has conducted hundreds of mediations and hearings for the Superior Court, Community Mediation Program, Parent-Teen, Elder Care, Navy, Small Claims Court, and Employment Disputes.

CAREER & PRIOR EXPERIENCE

Following four years with the United States Navy, serving two tours in Viet Nam, Eric worked for the City of Del Mar Community Services and Lifeguard Department for 45 years. He was formerly the Assistant Editor for California Lifeguard Magazine.

Education & Professional Affiliations

  • MS in Human Resources from Chapman University
  • BA and MA from San Diego State University in Social Science
  • Mediation and Hearing Officer Certificate from NCRC

Training Experience & Specialties

Since 2003, Eric has led over 2000 hours of dispute resolution training. Recently, he has worked extensively with veterans, San Diego County Jail inmates, homeless and their support groups. He is on NCRC’s POST training team for law enforcement. He has also been an active Zoom trainer for various groups during the past two years of Covid restrictions. Eric serves on NCRC’s Board of Directors.

Hobbies & Interests

Once an avid surfer, his hobbies and interests now include traveling, reading, writing, and running and being walked by his dog Benny.
