Timothy G. Williams became an attorney in 1996 and offers 30+ years of experience in employment law and employment litigation to his work as a mediator. Throughout his career, Tim has represented hundreds of employees and employers in individual and complex (class action, representative action, and collection action) litigated cases. Tim’s experience includes extensive wage and hour litigation and counseling, as well as decades of work with clients in harassment, discrimination, retaliation, leaves of absence, pay equity, and other employment matters. Tim brings his skills as a steadfast and tenacious advocate for his clients into mediation with a detailed and balanced process for resolving disputes.

In addition to his role at Berger & Williams, Tim is a mediator with the California Civil Rights Department. Tim is a longtime author and editor for a BNA publication, “Wage & Hour Laws: A State by State Survey,” and a chapter in a PLI “Employment Law Yearbook” on Family, Medical, and Military Leave: Recent Developments Under the FMLA and USERRA. Tim lectures extensively on advanced practice employment law issues and is a regular guest lecturer at the University of San Diego Workers Rights Clinic/Legal Aid at Work.

Tim serves with the California Lawyers Association’s Labor & Employment Executive Committee and as the 2026 President of the Board of Directors for the San Diego County Bar Association. Tim has been widely recognized by peers and publications as one of San Diego’s top employment lawyers, earning repeated honors from various national and local organizations. Decades of work representing parties on both sides of complex disputes, coupled with a thoughtful approach to the mediation process, enhance Tim’s effectiveness in guiding parties toward meaningful resolution.

RATES:

Half day – $4,000 flat rate: includes two hours of preparation (including brief review and pre-mediation Zoom test sessions) and 4 hours of mediation time; $700 per hour thereafter, in ½ hour increments
Full day – $8,000 flat rate: includes two hours of preparation (including brief review and pre-mediation Zoom test sessions) and 8 hours of mediation time; $700 per hour thereafter, in
½ hour increments
$450 administrative fee per party
