Laura began practicing law in 1982 and brings more than four decades of experience to her work as both an attorney and mediator. Her legal background includes extensive civil litigation, representing plaintiffs and defendants in complex business, employment, and real estate matters, as well as handling a wide range of insurance claims and professional malpractice defense.
A credentialed mediator since 1999, Laura has expertise in contract disputes, employment and workplace issues, personal injury and insurance matters, real estate conflicts, and homeowner association cases. She has led numerous multi‑party mediations and facilitations, helping individuals, organizations, and institutions navigate highly challenging disputes.
In addition to her mediation work, Laura serves as a trainer and mentor for the National Conflict Resolution Center (NCRC). She delivers mediation, conflict‑management, equity, and diversity trainings, and has helped develop and guide many of San Diego’s respected practicing mediators through NCRC’s Theory and Practice of Mediation week-long training. She delivers customized workshops that have benefited colleges and universities, government agencies, corporations, and community organizations.
Known for her perseverance, patience, insight, and creativity, Laura approaches every case with the belief that as long as parties continue talking, resolution remains possible. Clients consistently value her commitment to using every effort to help them reach meaningful and lasting agreement.
RATES:
Superior Court Ordered Civil Mediations:
- Civil Limited: $150 per hour for each of the first two hours; $650 per hour thereafter.
- Civil Unlimited: $250 per hour for each of the first two hours; $650 per hour thereafter.
- Pre-mediation calls at no charge
HOA Pre-litigation Matters:
- $1,000 flat rate for up to 3 hours + $650 per hour thereafter.
- $650 per hour for brief review.
- $250 per party administrative fee
- Pre-mediation calls at no charge
All Other:
- Half day – $3,250 flat rate: includes preparation, pre-mediation conference, and 4 hours of mediation time; $650 per hour thereafter, in 1/2 hour increments
- Full day – $6,500 flat rate: includes preparation, pre-mediation conference, and 8 hours of mediation time; $650 per hour thereafter, in 1/2 hour increments.
- $450 non-refundable administrative fee per party
- Pre-mediation calls at no charge
