This announcement comes as San Diego extended rules halting residential and commercial evictions due to COVID-19 financial hardship through the end of September, and as the county’s unemployment rate sits at 15 percent—further compounding the region’s pre-existing housing affordability crisis. As a response to these difficult times, the nonprofit organization will be offering mediators from their West Coast Resolution Group to resolve complex commercial cases at a reduced rate, and community mediators to assist with residential renter-landlord disputes at no cost.
