Mahealani Yoshida
Mahealani (she/her) grew up in Ka‘awaloa on the island of Hawai‘i. She has 10+ years of experience helping teams foster safer, more inclusive workplaces. She’s currently based in Houston, TX, where she works full-time at Memorial Hermann Health System designing training programs that support patient safety, high reliability, and just culture. Known for her creative approach and people-first mindset, Mahealani is passionate about fostering belonging and helping teams thrive.
CAREER & PRIOR EXPERIENCE
Mahealani began working in DEI as a trainer and facilitator in 2015. Since then, she has facilitated over 500 workshops and continues to grow that number each year. She is currently based in Houston, TX, as a DEI specialist for Texas Children’s Hospital, which was just ranked the #2 hospital in the nation by the U.S. News & World Report’s 2022 survey of Best Children’s Hospitals. In her current role, she serves as a primary project lead and consultant for DEI initiatives, acts as an advisor within Human Resources, and collaborates with other HR professionals to ensure DEI is implemented effectively across the organization.

Hobbies & Interests
Mahealani enjoys spending her free time with her three pups Luna, Harley, & Halo. Going on walks, hikes, swims, or anything outdoors is an ideal way to recharge. Some days she goes for the all-day Netflix binges with cookies and her favorite ice cream, Coffee Haagen-Dazs.
