D’Andre Brooks

D’Andre Brooks is a community leader and youth advocate dedicated to disrupting cycles of trauma, incarceration, and disconnection in underserved communities. As the Executive Director of Freedom2Succeed, a nonprofit focused on breaking the school-to-prison pipeline, as well as professionalizing the lived-experiences of our justice impacted community, Brooks places justice-impacted academics in schools and community-based organizations to mentor students and facilitate transformative programming centered on self-awareness, conflict resolution, and professional development. With deep experience working with foster youth, transitional age youth (TAY), and systems-involved populations, Brooks brings a trauma-informed and culturally responsive approach to all programming.

For over a decade, Brooks has supported young people experiencing homelessness, substance misuse, family instability, and community violence. Through work as a Youth Programs Senior Coordinator, Lead Case Manager, and Juvenile Justice Program Associate, Brooks has helped develop individualized case plans with youth, caregivers, and multi-disciplinary teams—prioritizing youth voice, wraparound services, and long-term success. Brooks specializes in engaging high-barrier populations, training peer staff, and facilitating dialogue among youth, educators, and justice system partners to create safe, empowered environments.

A firm believer in community-rooted solutions, Brooks actively contributes to initiatives that strengthen relationships between communities and institutions. Their work is guided by lived experience in the foster care system and a passion for mentoring the next generation of leaders.
