Angelica Maldonado

With a deep-rooted love for community and a fervent commitment to empowering others to enact positive change, Angelica has brought over 30 years of volunteer and service experience to her role as a dedicated community leader. Based in San Diego, she is passionate about leveraging my leadership, interpersonal, and office managerial skills to serve and uplift the community.

During her tenure as the District Parent Engagement Liaison at Chula Vista Elementary School District, she played a pivotal role in fostering connections and support among parents, school staff, and community agencies. She managed school-wide parent activities, implemented effective communication and marketing strategies, and coordinated impactful community events. Through forging new partnerships with community agencies and organizations, she worked tirelessly to ensure that families and underserved student populations (English emerging learners, foster, low-income, home and food insecure, special needs) received the support they deserved.

Her dedication to community service was further highlighted through her involvement in various initiatives, including collaborating on Public Service Announcements and Community Engagement COVID-19 Video Series, presenting at prestigious educational summits (SOKA University of America World Summit of Educators and the California Association of Bilingual Education-twice), and serving as coordinator for essential programs such as District-wide San Diego Food Bank Food for Kids Backpack Programs and Vaccination Mobile Clinics.

In addition to her hands-on experience, she holds certifications and awards that underscore her commitment to excellence, including the Consumer and Business Loan Certification Series from Union Bank of California and Family Engagement Certification from SDSU. She is also honored to have received recognition from the Chula Vista Council of PTA’s and the Chula Vista Elementary School District for my contributions to the District English Learner Advisory Committee as Chair and Vice Chair.

As she continues her journey of community service and advocacy, she is eager to build upon her accomplishments and make a lasting impact on the lives of those in our local and extended communities.
