In mediation, a neutral third party helps people reach consensus on their own by exploring the underlying interests and issues that can stand in the way of problem-solving. Through frank, respectful conversations, solutions can be found.

No matter what your professional background, mediation training is a valuable learning opportunity that will help you become an effective, third-party neutral who helps mediate tough conversations.

The Theory and Practice of Mediation is a 40-hour mediation training course that’s based on the National Conflict Resolution Center’s 40+ years of experience offering mediation services. It teaches you mediation theory and our 6-step mediation process, which will help you become a better communicator in all areas of your professional life.

What a fantastic course! I have attended many of these types of classes and never once did I think to myself, “Please let the break get here!”

I loved the amount of role play and practice. I searched all over for programs, and I couldn’t be happier with my choice.

This was one of the most rigorous and well-designed professional trainings I have taken. The course struck an excellent balance between theory and intensive practice, and it made clear that mediation is a discipline that requires preparation, judgement, and humility.

The simulations were challenging in the right way and forced real skill development rather than passive learning.
