Workplace leaders have many tasks including conflict resolution. Effective conflict resolution empowers employees to be fully engaged in the process, a premise at the core of NCRC’s training, The Exchange.
The Exchange works because it considers and values the interests of all parties: the organization, its leadership, and participating employees. It helps leaders identify the underlying needs of employees to move beyond the surface-level complaints and toward long-term solutions.
At the organizational level, The Exchange helps foster a culture where each person can share their perspective and be heard, then work together to identify solutions. Through observation and practice, using realistic scenarios, participants learn practical principles for successfully managing conflict, and gain confidence using them.
Goals of The Exchange
By the end of the course, participants will have the ability to:
- Utilize an interest-based approach for managing workplace conflicts.
- Help all team members involved take accountability for both the issue and its solution.
- Create strong internal models of healthy conflict resolution behavior.
- Intervene in conflict situations before they escalate and require formal dispute resolution.
